Just Another Manic Monday...

Wish it was Sunday, cause that's my fun day!

Hmm, let's flashback to Sunday...where I spent 6 hours at school! Sooo, maybe Sunday isn't my fun day, but it's definitely my get-stuff-done day! :) Monday was indeed manic! I was at school from 6:30 AM to 7:45 PM! Holy cow!

So let's see what I did yesterday...
My Back to School board went from this....
To this...
For a few reasons...1) My roster has changed 5 times since the first day of school, so my iPod just wasn't up to date! 2) My kiddos are always giving me awesome artwork, so I really wanted to get some displayed! When they walked in this morning, they were so excited to see what I had done. I will change this out regularly. I tried not to put multiples from the same student, just so every one gets a chance.
AND I DECORATED FOR HALLOWEEN! :) YAY! Kiddos love it!
Love my READ carved pumpkins sign that I got for $2! WOOP!

I'm also going to do something AWESOME to the front of my door, but you have to wait to find out! :)
I also have this posted by my library. Click the picture to get your freebie! :)
Since tomorrow is October 1st (WHAAT?!) I'm going to start doing something FUN in my room.

Each school day from tomorrow until October 30th (22 days), I'm going to have 2 students each day ask yes or no questions to figure out what my Halloween costume is! Ex: Are you an animal? No. I will record all of the questions, and the answers, so even kiddos who are absent can keep track. On October 30th, I will have students write on a piece of paper what they think I'm going to be and if they are right, they will get a SPECIAL treat from me on Halloween! (I haven't figured the treat out yet...)

Maybe you have some ideas? I'm going to be... Ms. Frizzle! :) I have a friend who is an awesome seamstress and she is putting the final touches on my dress! :D I'M SO EXCITED!

Well, leave your ideas below and share what you're going to be for Halloween! :)

Five for Friday: Help Wanted

FRIIIIIIIDAY!
It's time to link up!
fiveforfriday2_thumb[3]
We finished our math unit this week talking about ordering numbers. I had kiddos get into small groups and order themselves from least to greatest according to height, then we did it with the whole class. Buncha cuties!
I got my slant box out on Wednesday! I can't wait for Lauren @ The Traveling Teacher to get her box (should have been there today!)
Found out I'm getting a new student on Monday. This is the 5th change to my roster! I gained one 2nd week of school, lost one the 3rd, and lost 2 the 5th...and now I'm gaining another on Monday. I'm extremely frustrated. Do you have a lot of changes in your building/classroom? My kiddos also are misbehaving out the wazoo these past 2 days! I came home last night and just cried. It's definitely the first time I've felt my lowest since I started teaching in January. Positive thoughts/encouragement/advice welcomed...
At the end of the week, we did some games for review for our math test on Monday. Kiddos really liked them...although they misbehaved! RAWR! All available at my TpT store if interested.

Picture day...that calls for a selfie!

Have a happy happy happy weekend! I noticed I'm up to 78 followers! YAY! Only 22 more until I'm eligible for a classroom friendly supplies pencil sharpener! So share with your friends!

Budding Blog! {Last day to enter the giveaway!}

Yay for Saturdays and sleeping in. It is finally starting to feel like fall

Today I'm going to link up with I {heart{ Recess for her Budding Blog linky! This linky is specifically for blogs with less than 200 followers! I'm going to go through all the budding blogs after this post! :)

1. Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging because I've been a blog stalker since I joined Pinterest a few years ago. When I started student teaching last fall, I started implementing all of the great ideas I had found. When I got hired in January as a middle school reading teacher, I just felt lost and had nothing to offer anyone. When I decided to switch to 3rd grade this summer, I decided it was time for me to start my own. I've been overwhelmed with the amount of teachers I've been able to connect with and the crazy thing is...people are starting to use MY ideas! I love seeing my original ideas be repinned on Pinterest. IT IS AWESOME!
2. What is your favorite subject to teach and why?
Normally, I would answer Reading and Language Arts, because that is what I have my endorsements in and spent the majority of my bachelors degree studying. However, I'm finding myself looking forward to Math every day. I think it's because I have so many students ho are behind in Math, and when I see them start to "get it", it makes it that more rewarding. Also because my co-teacher and I do things like this...
3. Describe your teaching style. I just told the secretary my room is "structured chaos". And that is totally true. I enjoy collaborative and hands-on learning. My students know that I am silly and crazy, and they love it. Some of my students join me, some of them just sit back and giggle at me. Either way they are learning, and having fun while doing so. 4. Give three interesting facts about you.
1. I was born in Germany. My dad served our country for 23 1/2 years in the Army and we just so happened to be stationed in Germany when I was born.
2. I am a Hanson fanatic. Yes, like the 1997 hit MMMBop kind of Hanson.
I've been a fan since I was 6 years old and have never stopped. I've seen them live 5 times, and will be going to Milwaukee in October to see them for the 6th time. They release a new album this summer and it ROCKS. My faves are Juliet and Get the Girl Back. My boyfriend, who works part time at Kohl's, even comes home singing Get the Girl back because they play it all the time at Kohl's. He has finally admitted he "digs it".
3. Hanson actually started me on another obsession. TOMS Shoes. Although I haven't gotten a new pair since February 2012, I still own 21 pairs. WHAT?! Yes, 21 pairs. I'm going to treat myself to a new pair this fall or winter...still debating!
5. Do you have a TpT store? Yes, yes I do! You can check it out here!
If you have less than 200 followers, make sure to stop by I {Heart} Recess to link up for Budding Blogs!
P.S.! Today is the last day to enter my giveaway for my Place Value Flip Book! I'll be emailing the winner tomorrow! :D

Five for Friday!

I don't know about you, but my week FLEW by! Holy cow!
It's that time again...

fiveforfriday2

We had a student leave the district and she didn't get the chance to say goodbye. She is going through a really rough time at home right now, and I thought sending her a letter would cheer her up. We have been working on friendly letters, so this was a great opportunity! The kiddos came up with everything on their own. It was a great mini-lesson. I'm mailing it tomorrow!

We finished our Place Value Flip Books! I'll have to take pictures of the kiddos' books, because they look great! You can grab a copy at my store here, or enter the giveaway below to get it FREE! Winner announced Sunday (I extended it)! The book is on sale right now, after Sunday it will be full price! If you buy it now, and you win, I will let you pick another product(s) from my store of the same value! a Rafflecopter giveaway
Seriously?! How could I not love what I do when I get things like this? I was overwhelmed with all the homemade crafts I got this week. I found this on my small group table before I left school tonight..so cute!
Ugh! It's that time of year again...less daylight. I head to school as the sun is still rising! :(

WOO HOO! I finally won a giveaway! YIPEE!!!! :D

I hope you have a WONDERFUL weekend! Head on over to link up for...Five for Friday!
